Qatar Charity receives food items from Gulf Bridge International
Qatar Charity (QC) received essential food items from the Gulf Bridge International (GBI), which are to be distributed to low-income families under Qatar Charity’s “Ramadan Supply” project.
This comes as part of its corporate social responsibility towards the community and country where it runs its business.
Cengiz Oztelcan, CEO of GBI and Fareed Khaleel Al Siddieqy, director of Projects and Centers Department at Qatar Charity were present at the collection of the donated items at the GBI office in Qatar Science and Technology Park and were pleased with the amount of goods offered.
This contribution comes from GBI, as part of the “Ramadan Drive”, an internal campaign launched by the company to encourage its employees to give back to the local community and make a difference.
Cengiz Oztelcan, CEO of GBI, said, “This was our first initiative and we are very happy to have been able to participate and give back during the holy month of Ramadan. We also look forward to continuing to work with Qatar Charity with various upcoming initiatives to make a positive impact in our community in Qatar.”
Mr. Ali Al Ghareeb, director of the Local Development Department at Qatar Charity expressed his thanks and appreciation for this humanitarian initiative from GBl, emphasizing the keenness of Qatar Charity to cooperate with various public and private sector institutions to achieve its mission and reach out to the largest number of beneficiaries in the community.
It is worth mentioning that the Ramadan Supply project provides essential foodstuffs for the month of Ramadan to families with limited income, through the distribution of coupons or food items donated by companies and individuals. The total cost of this project for this year is estimated at QR 1.2mn, benefiting 10,000 people with low incomes.
